I switched to Firefox. Click on the graphic above and you can too. All I can say is flawless. Install was easy. I got rid of the shortcut to IE on my desktop and set Firefox as the default browser. All of my bookmarks were intact and I’ve only had to install one or two “add-ons” for my regular browsing habits.

Firefox seems to load pages faster and doesn’t seem to collect as much temporary junk. There are tons of add-ons such as one that allows for “recording” of streaming video. There’s just more cool stuff.

The only thing I don’t like about the switch is that the preview post feature in WordPress doesn’t work. This is a small price to pay for not getting locked up three or four times a day with Explorer.

I’m fairly tech saavy but not a technologist. I tend to seek out the path of least resistance and that’s probably why I stuck with IE for so long. After using Firefox for almost a month, I don’t want to use IE. Now I’m wondering about all of this Linux stuff I’ve been hearing about for years. Will an operating system switch be next? That, for now, does not seem to be the path of least resistance. I like my Microsoft Office apps – I could care less about the OS.

One thing the Firefox switch has taught me is that we don’t have to be a world of enablers for bloated, clunky, unsafe software just because it’s from Microsoft.
