About
Every morning in many government, campaign, corporate and non-profit offices there’s a young person, perhaps an intern, who ‘clips’ the newspapers. The articles chosen used to be cut from the pages of the papers, copied and circulated in packets to the organization. Today, the clips are gathered by cutting and pasting things from the web.
The purpose is evident - collect the news and bits of information that may have some bearing on the organization. Keep everyone ‘in the know.’
This blog is sort of a hybridized way for me to do my own morning (or anytime) clips. When the mood strikes, the other “C” word comes into play - comment. Most comments are short, sometimes I write a bit more.
I began the blog because this op-ed piece pissed me off. It was written by a right-wing charter school apologist who either didn’t research what Governor Ted Strickland is doing to try to bring Ohio back — or ignored it for partisan reasons.
You should see a lot of coverage of Ohio politics in this blog. I am also interested in national politics, energy policy, U.S. foreign affairs, and the Middle East. Occaisionally, you might see clips from the Cleveland Browns, Big Ten football, and stupid things that get my attention.
