Although the report was justfiable and much needed. Many questions arise. Earlier today Mr. Dann responded to the report and stated the report from the IG was a pesonal vendetta by the person who wrote with a lot of exaggeration and innuendo.
This leads me to ask myself a few questions. Why would the IG be investigating campaign finance? That had nothing to do with the operations of the office and wouldn’t his donors be the ones to hold him accountable? I still don’t get the whole linking to his affair…it was consensual and no laws were broken.
This whole report may be nothing more than a huge play by the IG to give himself more power. Do not be surprised in the 128th General Assembly if you see legislation introduced that will expand the powers of the IG. It was tried during this GA and rebuffed with extreme prejudice. If tried again, it should have the same results.
