No one is saying the obvious: T. Boone Pickens is a billionaire oil tycoon who funded the Swiftboat Veterans slime against John Kerry, backs George W. Bush and Republicans with their anti-science, anti-environmental agenda, and in the end, he cares only about making a ton of money.

Do some research on Pickens' real plans to make billions off privatizing water, and also NOTICE THAT HE HAS RECENTLY POSTPONED THESE WINDFARMS HE SO BOLDLY PROMISED DUE TO CHEAP OIL MAKING IT LESS PROFITABLE NOW. If Pickens were serious about alternative energy (not nuclear and gas, but REAL alternatives like solar and wind) than he would just bankroll the project himself, not run and hide because of the economic downturn.

THERE'S A REASON WHY PICKENS HAS BILLIONS. MONEYMAKING IS HIS TOP PRIORITY. And that don't always square with doing what's right.

I concur with everything written here. If any of you have a real interest in what the future of this country, I urge you to read THE LONG EMERGENCY by James Howard Kunstler. It is a very sobering account and to my mind, a very realistic assessment of the future of this country. If I had any real folding money, I would be buying good quality farm land near a stable, renewable water resource to use for irrigation.

In one of the media snippits I saw of Mr. Pickens, he apparently went over to Southern Methodist University to listen to what Kunstler had to say and apparently he thinks he is really on top of things.

I am definitely onboard with the Pickens plan, am one of the Rapid Responders and while I wish I had more time to participate, I did write to the Obama transition team to give them my advice and vision for the future of the area of the country in which i reside.

Thanks so much,

There are no other plans out there. At least, that are as significant.
The choice is every citizens' to make.
Bring energy control back to America or suffer the economical consequences of keeping with feeding foreign interests instead.
I vote for the http://www.pickensplan.org/

We need to keep this momentum going or we'll lose the government's attention.

This article is spot on. Initiatives like the Pickens' Plan and Wecancolveit are dritical to our security, even our survival. I hope the new administration will initiate a national energy infrastructure, research for breakthroughs in renewable power and batteries, electric cars, th works. Now is the time. Here are three excellent references:

Pelikan...you are so right.

Getting off foreign oil, and our migration into the green economy is everything.

It solves (or at least is a key component):
* Geo-political risks
* Transfer of our wealth
* Carbon emmissions
* Auto Industry
* Financial Markets
* Economy
* US position in global economy

T. Boone knows this, and a lot of other people know this too including President Elect Obama.

Thank you for reminding us all. Join Pickens Plan. Great resoures for technical data and an opportunity to join the Army and help do something about it.
