American Idol Buzzkill: Mocked Audtioner Commits Suicide in Front of Paula Abdul’s House
I’ll be the first to admit, I’ve laughed at some of the crazy people who have been featured during the American Idol audition shows. Some of these “performances” have also left me feeling uncomfortable because there’s a difference between crazy and potentially mentally ill.
Crazy is the attention seeker. Remember the guy last season who performed his own song, We’re Brothers Forever? His name is Renaldo Lapuz and he’s fashioned a personal appearance business from his Idol notoriety. Here he is with Simon. We may have started laughing at Renaldo, but we ended up laughing with him.
Now we come to Paula Goodspeed.
In the video below, it’s more obvious that we weren’t laughing at someone who was just seeking attention. She seems, well, off-balance in a more profound way. Do the producers at American Idol need to be more careful in how they handle the obviously untalented and over the top auditioners? They’re probably discussing that right now.

That lady deserved a record deal. Nice new layout by the way.
That lady was really good. I dont see why simon gotta be like that all the time. That lady was one of the year’s better performaces.
