We need States to pass constitutional propositions to require all children to attend public school , to protect children from physical , sexual , and psychological abuse. This will effectively ban privet , religious , and home schools.

If you are on a slippery slope, it doesn't matter which way you fall off. The point is that fascism and Marxism both limit human freedoms in oppressive ways, and the concern is that his civilian corps looks like he is copying two opposite, but similarly totalitarian regimes. Combined with his murky ties with many radicals, this makes freedom-loving conservatives more than a little concerned.

The sad fact is that Obama's resume is paper thin, and there are so many missing pieces, and many of the few we have are very unsettling, such as his associations with radicals. For those who "buy" his persona, you trust him, and don't worry about the questions. For those of us who haven't drunk the kool-aid, we would be more comfortable if he had been more transparent about his past, and if the media had been more vigorous in investigating his past associations, or even asking a few hardball questions about some of his radical quotes, rightwingers would be feeling more willing to trust. As it is, since there is no transparent record, and he has never led anyone except those who follow him, or who are paid by him, we are feeling about as comfortable as one might feel about having contacts removed with a chainsaw.
