Palin Email True says Snopes.com

Apparently there’s been an email critical of Sarah Palin circulating around the internets. The email was written by a Wasilla, AK resident. I didn’t believe it, but according to Snopes, it’s true. You can read all about it here.
I am suffering from Sarah Palin fatigue and could not get through the entire email. Apparently, this email was sent to the author’s “email group.” From there it just spread like those 1s and 0s seem to proliferate over the toobz …
I think SNOPES has it wrong about the authenticity of Ann Kilkenny’s letter. Or at least there’s an obvious contradiction in their verdict.
Snopes claims that Kilkenny needed Snopes to read her the letter and that she she said “Yes, I wrote that” and that she sent it to 40 people, brothers, sisters, and friends. If that’s the case, then why would she need to write the following?
“First, I have long believed in the importance of being an informed
voter. I am a voter registrar. For 10 years I put on student voting
programs in the schools. If you google my name (Anne Kilkenny +
Alaska), you will find references to my participation in local
government, education, and PTA/parent organizations.”
That doesn’t sound like a letter sent with your circle of friends and family.
Something’s not right with the palin SNOPES relationship.

I was recently approved for social security for several disabilities. I was horrified to find out I must wait 2 years for Medicare. It’s amazing that the very people who are too disabled to work, cannot get medical coverage!
I have a choice of eating or trying to find a place to live on $400 a month. I will be getting approx $900 a month and will have to pay approx $500 a month for Cobra insurance. Cobra will last for about 14 months and medicare won;t start for 2 years. What do we do in the meantime?
I cannot believe I’ve worked most of my life to come to this. I am 57, had cancer and brain bleed this year. I also have several other health problems. I did not ask to be sick, this could happen to any of us.
Please have medicare start when social security is awarded.

actually… she apparently sent it to her friends and family to start circulating to others. the extra information was for those who might question the veracity of her statements… like you. and it seems she asked them to read her the letter because there have been fake and altered versions of the letter out there and she didn’t want to say yes if it wasn’t really the letter she had written. i think that’s very honest of her.
i don’t think you’re a joke because of your name… and that was pretty rude to say to victoria. you owe her an apology.

one last thing… snopes doesn’t have a “relationship” with palin. the point of snopes is to debunk myths. i looked her up on snopes and they actually debunked most of the rumors being spread about her. do your research.

It is like quoting Wikipedia.
it’s not really like quoting wikipedia because the articles are not published by random people. anyone at all can update a wikipedia entry. i’m not saying everything on snopes is 100% accurate, but the purpose of the site is to investigate the truth behind rumors objectively. they research and investigate to get real answers and they try to be as accurate as possible. they even tell you when they can’t find the truth. i like that.
An immediate attack on someone being a right wing conspirator…what a surprise. Here’s an interesting note…Palin’s email was reportedly hacked and Huffington posted all the images. Yet in the story it is stated that only one of the emails has been confirmed. “Threat Level has confirmed the authenticity of at least one of the e-mails.” Who are the real conspirators, nuts, and fringe idiots? Let’s hear the REAL issues and ideas and end all the BS.

Palin’s e-mail breach misses the two major points: 1) You and the agencies supporting you need to bolster your security, and 2) These data breaches and thefts are due to a lagging business culture. Read some fresh and original thinking from the author of “IT Wars” – http://www.businessforum.com/DScott_02.html – I urge every business person and IT person, management or staff, to get hold of a copy of “I.T. Wars: Managing the Business-Technology Weave in the New Millennium.” It has an excellent chapter on security, and how to scale security for any organization, any budget. It also has a plan template with all considerations. Our CEO has read this book. Our project managers are on their second reading. Our vendors are required to read it (they can borrow our copies if they don’t want to purchase it). Any agencies that wish to partner with us: We ask that they read it. Do yourself a favor and read this book – then ask your boss to read it – then ask your staff and co-workers to read it.
The most troubling thing coming out of the Palin email hacking is the fact that she and her staff reportedly use Yahoo for official business because in AK the .gov email is subject to right-to-know laws. So much for transparency.

On snopes, if it is a slam on a liberal, even if is a he said – she said issue, snopes will declare it to be untrue.
If it is a slam on a conservative, snopes will say there is not enough evidence to determine the truth.
Please don’t force me to agree with Dave-Sept 22- surely Snopes can offer a definitive comment on the Kilkenny letter and more about this trailer trash nightmare! How can we not rid ourselves of this person! We are already the laughingstock of the rest of the world even without her! Intelligent, educated, elegant, accomplished women simply cringe at the sight of her and the sound of her! One of my gorgeous granddaughters (not pregnant!) recently graduated from the FIT, a division of the State University of New York with a BSc, a magna cum laude, and a wonderful job -the grad was held at the Radio City Music Hall in NY – with nearly 7000 in attendance – MORE than the whole city of Wasilla, Alaska! HELP us! I have given my life to this country – but I will move – anywhere – if this embarrassing group should take over! I am an independent voter.
Palin has the qualifications to be president, but not the judgement. She is a radical, a member of a cult. Believes the world is 5,000 years old. Want’s to make her religious beliefs the law of the land. She was selected because and only because she is a woman that is anti choice.
Many more Republican women are much more qualified and have judgement. But they are pro choice. McCain needs to “fire up the base”

The GOP folks don’t want universal health care because “the gov’t will interfere with medical decisions,” yet they want the gov’t to force women (or 12-year-old rape victims) to give birth against their will. How is this different from China, where women are foced to abort?

Are you so morally sick that you do not know the difference between making a life versus taking a life? Please don’t vote. We already have enough mentally incompetent people choosing the worst set of leaders I have seen in my life time.
I am an obstetrician and after 25 years of taking care of pregnant children and women, I still haven’t met that 12 year old rape victim that needs or wants an abortion. The women who chose taking life all had reasons for their decisions. In less than 1%, the abortion was needed to protect the woman’s health or to treat a lethal fetal defect, in 2% there was a non-lethal birth defect or the fetus was the wrong sex, in 6% the woman broke up with her boyfriend and no longer wanted to be pregnant, in 91% the women felt birth control was too much trouble or they couldn’t remember to use it.
By the way the procedure known as partial birth abortion where a 24 week or older gestation fetus is delivered to its head and then killed before the delivery is completed, the procedure supported by Obama, almost all the democratic party, some GOP-RINOs, and NARAL is never needed to protect a woman’s health. It is needed to make sure a child is not born alive after a botched late term abortion.
Now that this procedure is no longer legal, Obama and the democrat party would like women and doctors to have the option to let a baby born alive to die by neglect after a botched abortion.
The real reason for 99% of abortions performed in the U.S.A. has nothing to do with a sexual assault or the health of the women. Whether, it is manslaughter by neglect, dismemberment or suction curette, the real reason is so a woman won’t have the emotional distress of having to decide to care for a child she didn’t want or feel bad about placing the child for adoption. It is all about the moral character of the woman getting and the doctor performing the abortion.
I don’t know where you get your stats that 91% of women who terminate pregnancies were “too lazy” to use birth control. That is contrary to everything I have read, and I have read a lot on the subject. I have read that the majority of women who abort used birth control but it failed. Please tell me where you get your statistics. Everyone I know of who as terminated a pregnancy is in this category. If someone is too stupid to use birth control, would you really want her to raise a child?
I would like to tellyou about the Magic Jack rip off. They dont list s phone, they dont send back your money, and their puffing is just that smoke. I ordered one and it would not work properly. When I attempted to contact them I got zip, nada, nothing, Their support gave me a bunch of B.S. about how great they are. Persons I have chatted with had the same complaints.They advertise on T.V. and are a bunch of con artist scammers. rabbi is distorting the facts. rabbi obviously does not do the appropriate homework or keep up on such matters. The Governor works out of three offices, one of which is in Anchorage. She also has a residence in the general area of Anchorage. Regardless, her comment should be taken in the context of letting us know that Alaska is “backyard” close to Russia.
– rabbi should find something of substance to meet the desire to be critical.
Snopes is screwy- I did an extensive search on their reputation and found out that the founders have a really bad reputation for just looking up what side more people are on, and creating a POS article that implies anything that could support otherwise doesn’t exist (or is a lie, if there’s no way).
I also came across old archives saying that back in 1995, the Mikkelsons were getting kicked off every site they joined for being compulsive liars- they apparently couldn’t refrain from lying about everything they could get away with then, either. I also hit 2003 archives saying that they took it to the next level by emailing their newletter mailing list “myths” they made up to boost their traffic.
About the only difference between them 15 years ago and now is that now they’re making a lot of money for the same things that used to get them shown the door.
Anti – What the hell? “Archives?” 1995, 2003? You’ve said nothing here with a single fact that could be independently verified. What’s your real angle?
