The Plain Dealer was right to endorse a ‘yes’ vote on issue 5! A ‘yes’ vote will ensure that Ohio House Bill 545, one of the nation’s best consumer protect bills will become law. There are simply too many Ohioans caught in a cycle of debt as a result of payday lending, for us to give the payday lobby a do-over in our state. Their product is a defective one and a predatory one! The payday lobby likes to repeat over and over again the mantra of freedom and choice, seeming to forget that their 391% interest loans don’t amount to financial freedom! This is not a partisan issue…payday lending reform is good for our families, our communities and our economy. Vote yes on issue 5!
